PITCHER

Seth Rosin, Mounds View, sr.: University of Minnesota recruit and Twins draft pick. Consistently throws in the upper 80s to low 90s. Clocked at 92 mph in a game at Forest Lake, where he threw his best game of the season, striking out 14 of 18 batters in a 1-0 loss.

CATCHER

Mike Kvasnicka, Lakeville North, sr.: Great bat and very disciplined at the plate. Hit seven homers with 22 walks. Had a .443 batting average with 27 runs and 28 RBIs. University of Minnesota recruit, who was also drafted by the Minnesota Twins.

FIRST BASE

Brad Hand, Chaska, jr.: Batted .419 with four homers and 28 RBIs. Consistently throws in the high 80s and has topped out at 94 mph. Was 4-1 with a 1.67 earned-run average.

SECOND BASE

Mark Halstensgard, Minnehaha Academy, jr.: Struck out 87 hitters and walked 16 in 68 innings. In 25 games, he had 30 RBIs and batted .429.

THIRD BASE

Joe Benke, Roseau, sr.: Good range and strong arm. Division II recruit is expected to make his final decision on which school to attend at the Lions All-Star Game. Hits for average (.456) and power (4 homers, 16 doubles). Was 7-1 as a pitcher with a 0.78 ERA.

SHORTSTOP

Jacob Esch, CretinDerham Hall, jr.: Was one of the leading hitters in the metro area with a .495 batting average and six home runs. Was 8-0, including a complete-game shutout of Hill-Murray in the state tournament quarterfinals. Being recruited by some Division I

OUTFIELD

Danny Miller, Eden Prairie, sr.: Accurate arm and excellent range in the outfield. Hit .463 with 15 RBIs and 11 stolen bases. Was 8-1 with a 1.04 ERA. Held opponents to a .166 average.

OUTFIELD

Steve McGuiggan, Apple Valley, sr.: Strong arm kept runners from trying to take an extra base. Extremely fast in the outfield. Hit .413 and stole 19 bases. Going to Illinois-Chicago next year.

OUTFIELD

Travis Piepho, Concordia Academy (Roseville), jr.: Hit .571 with 30 RBIs. Had 40 hits in 21 games while striking out four times. Had 10 doubles and two triples. Threw out four runners from right field.

DESIGNATED HITTER

Charlie Dubanoski, Burnsville, sr.: Three-year starter. Tremendous athletic ability with great speed and range. Batted .436 with 30 RBIs. Seventeen of his 41 hits were for extra bases.

RESERVES

Deryk Marks, Park (Cottage Grove), P, C, SS, sr.: Was 9-2 with key wins over Cretin-Derham Hall and Mounds View. Finished with a 1.18 ERA and 62 strikeouts. Batted .474 with 17 RBIs.

Trent Vedders, Hastings, P, OF, sr.: Lefty set school records with 124 strikeouts and 12 victories. Seven wins came via complete games. Had a 1.61 ERA going into state tournament.

Tyler Blomberg, Babbitt-Embarrass-Tower-Soudan, P, SS, sr.: Going into the state tournament, was 7-1 with a 1.55 ERA with 101 strikeouts in 58 innings. Uses fastball and curveball effectively. Will walk on at North Dakota State.

Charles Bruchu, Hill-Murray, P, 3B, sr.: Was 7-1 and with 40 strikeouts. Mixes speeds well to keep hitters off balance.

Mike DeBolt, Rochester Century, jr.: Right-hander was 9-0 with a 0.39 ERA and 72 strikeouts in 54 1/3 innings. Didn't allow an earned run in the final 40 1/3 innings of the season and didn't allow any runs in the final 28 1/3. Went a stretch of 19 2/3 innings without allowing a walk. Led the Big 9 Conference with 28 RBIs and was second in batting average at .465.

Carter Sackett, Burnsville, C, sr.: Holds school record for career home runs with 16, including seven this season. Recorded 22 assists this season. Will attend Iowa Central Community College.

Tim Duffy, St. Anthony, C, sr.: Filled in at pitcher when team's projected ace was injured. Was 4-2 with 1.25 ERA. Batted .415 with 20 RBIs. Will attend Augustana (S.D.).

Kyle Geason, Eden Prairie, SS, sr.: University of Minnesota recruit. Batted .469 with 23 runs and 27 RBIs. Good power with 12 doubles and five home runs. Very strong arm.

Tyler Rank, Rochester Mayo, C, sr.: Batted .392 this season and .401 for his career. Can play outfield as well as at the corners in the infield. Will attend Nebraska.

Cody Hallahan, Glencoe-Silver Lake, P, OF, sr.: Was 9-0 with 1.01 ERA. Struck out 88 in 62 2/3 innings. Six complete games in nine starts, including eight-inning complete game with 12 strikeouts against Delano. Minnesota State Mankato recruit.

Pat Dockendorf, Eagan, SS, sr.: Batted .427 with 10 doubles and 12 stolen bases. Reached base safely in just under half of his plate appearances. Minnesota State Mankato recruit.
