Minutes fiom March meeting:

Approved as written.

Treasurer's Report:

John distributed a budget. John brought ow attention to the overpayment to MV

Baseball, and mentioned that we also have a $500 credit with the school. The balance

should reflect an increased amount, of roughly $500. There are reimbursements still to

go through for the coaches. To the plus side, ads and checks still need to be turned over

to John fiom Bob Madison, the AD.

Old Business:

Player Aooarel: A few early orders were given out today. Coach Downey was

inundated with orders today to turn over to St. Croix. Turn-around time expected to be

1 to 2 weeks.

Pizza Pals: Players need to return their form by April 13. Some forms have already been

returned to Coach Downey.

Section Programs: Report the same. Randy Reichert has proposed that Cub Foods be

provided with an ad at no cost, thanks to their bagging opportunities. It was suggested by

Allen Barkve that we use a picture, with Cubs approval, showing some of the boys

bagging.

Game Dq Experience: A group of elementary-aged kids are to sing the National

Anthem at this Thursday's game, April 5. John Hoffman is looking into publishing a

brochure/'booklet to be available. A discussion, as to what the group felt, was opened up.

An amount of $200 was budgeted initially, but costs are coming in at $265. Coach

Downey would like to see team photos, as well as individual photos of seniors and

captains, included. Mark Anderson made a motion to authorize up to $400 for a "Game

Day Program". The motion was seconded by Allen Barkve.

Parental help is being sought for various needs. It was suggested that all parents of

players be e-mailed with a list of needs. The budget for game day events is 2 for Varsity,

1 for each of the other teams. Allen Barkve mentioned that the Shoreview Community

Center picnic site would be a good location for a gathering in the future.

An end-of-year banquet coordinator is needed. Dorothy Pedersen was scheduled to do

this, but has needed to step down. Karin Wessberg and Sally McCawille have agreed to

co-coordinate. Coach Downey wants to see it held at an indoor venue.

Coach's Report: There will be a realignment of Section 5AAA for 2008. Coach

Downey is encouraging Bob Madison to be the AD Coordinator for Section 5. Team

pictures were postponed, due to weather, at the seniors' request. Next Tuesday, April 10,

is Downey's best guess as to when pictures will be taken. Look for announcements to be

posted on-the baseball website. coach Downey reported that it's hard to go from the gym

to playing, but "it is what it is". Any pictures taken at any upcoming games can be sent

in PEG form to Coach Downey for uploading on to the website.

New Business: Dorothy Pedersen has stepped down as the Diamond Club Secretary, due

to a job change, Karin Wessberg has agreed to fill that role through this year. We want

to say a big thank you to Dorothy for all her time and energy devoted to getting this vital

job done. THANK YOU, Dorothy, and good luck at HGTV! !! Mark Anderson talked

about a new fundraising idea, He, along with a friend from Maple Grove, Darby Carlson,

could coordinate a MV AAU Basketball tournament that could be staffed by our baseball

players. John Hoffhan has received $130 for plagues that were available at conferences.

A discussion ensued regarding the non-profit designation. Bob Freed suggested that "if a

parent comes along that is willing and can do this, we don't want to dismiss it entirely".

Mark Anderson determined not to do it at this time.

The meeting was adjourned at 735 pm.

The next regular Diamond Club meeting will be held on Tuesday, May I, @om 7:00 to

8:30 in the Mounds View Forum.
