Parents of Prospective 2008 Mounds View High School Baseball Players:

 

 

The purpose of this note is to provide an update on the 2008 spring trip for MVHS Baseball.

 

Following the Diamond Club Meeting on Tuesday night, there are 30 juniors and seniors that have placed a $100 deposit for the 2008 Spring Trip to Orlando, Florida.

 

With that high level of interest, we have to cut it off at juniors and seniors.  Thirty is a large group; we simply cannot accommodate more.  Sophomores who have provided a deposit will be contacted by Diamond Club Treasurer John Hoffman regarding the return of their checks.

 

Some of the coaching staff will be traveling to Orlando, and some of the coaching staff will remain in Minnesota the week of Spring Break.  Players not traveling to Orlando will practice here at Mounds View High School that week; we will also pursue the use of the Bethel Fieldhouse as we did last year.

 

Player evaluation will occur at both the spring trip site and in Minnesota during Spring Break.  Team selections will be made toward the middle/end of the following week once all players are back together and can be evaluated together.  No preferential treatment will be given to those players that participate in the Orlando trip.  Thus, it is possible that a player making the trip could be cut, and players practicing in Minnesota will have every opportunity to make the Varsity / JV teams.
