Diamond Club Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Mark Anderson at 7:07.

Minutes from the January meeting:

A motion was made by Janet Wilson to approve the January minutes. The motion was seconded by Judy Vijums.  All were in favor; the motion carried.

Banquet:

Thank you to EVERYONE who played a part in the 4^th annual Diamond Club banquet.  Each year we have raised additional funds; this year we reached $20,595!!!

New Field:

When the Field Committee is folded into the Diamond Club we will need someone to head up the bricks and banner sales.  Please contact Mark Anderson to volunteer.

Treasurer's Report:

v     Jim went over the revenue and expenses for the banquet. Net income was $20,595 this year.

v     Ideas were discussed for next year.

Coach Downey's update:  (See complete report on-line - it was also emailed earlier this week)

v     Involving the players in writing thank you notes to our donors was discussed. It was suggested taking the formal thank you letter and having the boys write a personalize note on a note card to include. Coach Downey will organize. All Juniors and Seniors are to participate.

v     The net will be installed in March; bleachers and a portable scoreboard will also be installed this year. Something needs to be done with the batting cages due to the amount of water that collects. There will be additional costs to fix this issue.

v     Two informational meetings - March 2^nd and March 9^th.

Spring Fundraiser

v     The two options with Mansettis was discussed; a card to sell for $10 or a booklet for $20. An unofficial vote was taken and most thought it would be easier to sell the $10 card. However, the booklet has a free pizza coupon. It was also suggested to print the baseball schedule on the back of the cards.

v     March 7, 28^th, and April 3^rd are all Cub Bagging opportunities. The Freshman and Sophomore boys will be taking April 3^rd (Arden Hills) as Juniors and Seniors will be setting up the field. Juniors and Seniors will be taking March 28^th with Coach Downey (Arden Hills). The March 7^th date (WBL) is open to all.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:13.

The next Diamond Club meeting will be on Wednesday, March 2^nd in the Forum immediately following the Baseball Informational/Parent Meeting.
