JV: The JV finished the season with a 10-8 winover Irondale on Friday at Kohler. The Mustangs started strong and took a 6-0 lead and never let the Knights take a lead. Any time Irondale got close the JV was able to score and add to their lead. Anthony Tallarico started on the mound and pitched two scoreless innings before handing the ball over to Brandon Hershey, Jack Brundell, Dan McCarville, Chris Szymanski and Andy Gallagher, who picked up the save. The Junior Varsity ended the season with a solid 14-6 record. Coach Courtright would like to thank all those who contributed to this years JV team. A special thanks goes out to student coach Chris Wise, your hard work and dedication was greatly appreciated!  (Coach Courtright)

JV: The JV lost their first game at Kohler this year with a 12-6 loss to Woodbury on Thursday. Missed opportunities were the Mustangs downfall on offense and defense. Stranding nine base runners and having 6 errors did not help the JV in their quest for a perfect home record. Cam Dickison and Brock Pedersen were on the mound for the Mustangs, and Jack Brundell hit a home run deep into the Kohler parking lot. Last game for the JV is on Friday vs. Irondale at Kohler.  (Coach Courtright)


Tuesday, May 15, 2007

JV: The JV lost a close one at Hastings on Tuesday. Scoring only two runs in the game the Mustangs still had the lead 2-0 going into the bottom of the seventh, but the Raiders were able to score three two out runs to win the pitchers duel. Starter Justin Moline pitched well enough to win but the offense could not get the runs needed. The loss dropped the JV record to 13-5. Next game is Thursday vs. Woodbury at Kohler. JV: The JV dug an early hole, but were able to come back and win a 9-7 game against Roseville at Kohler on Friday. Behind 7-2 after 1 1/2 innings, the Mustangs scored 2 in the 2nd and 4th innings before taking the lead for good with 3 runs in the top of the 6th. Pitching for the Mustangs were Andy Gallagher, Nate Iliff, and game winner Anthony Tallarico. Leading the offense for the JV were Brandon Hershey and Jack Brundell. Freshman call-ups Jeff Anderson, Eric Bradley and Nate Iliff all played key roles in the JV's 5th win in a row. The JV record is now at 13-4. (Coach Courtright)

JV: The JV won a nine inning game at Cretin on Thursday by the score of 12-5. Solid Pitching by Andy Osborne, Dan McCarville and Jack Brundell kept a good Raider lineup in check. The Mustangs scored twice in the sixth to tie the game and two more in the seventh to take a two run lead but Cretin came back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game. Both teams went scoreless in the eighth and in the top of the ninth the Mustangs let loose with a hit parade scoring seven times to put the game out of reach. The JV record stands at 12-4. The JV plays Roseville at Kohler on Friday. (Coach Courtright)

JV: The JV improved their record to 11-4 with a victory at Park on Tuesday. Justin Moline pitched into the seventh inning before handing the ball off to Jack Brundell for the final three outs of a 3-2 win. The Mustangs were able to do just enough on offense scoring in only two innings as the Park pitchers threw well. The game ended when Chris Szymanski fielded a single in right field and relayed the ball to Brandon Hershey who threw a strike to Phil Wessberg at home to cut off the tying run at the plate to end the game. The JV is riding a four game win streak. Next game at Cretin on Thursday. (Coach Courtright)


Monday, May 7, 2007

JV: The JV stayed on track with a 10-1 win over Mpls. Southwest on Monday at McCullough. Scoring three times in three different innings the Mustangs were just too much for Southwest to handle. Anthony Tallirico gave up only one run, while scattering five hits in five innings and Brandon Hershey pitched the final two. Offensively, the Mustangs  all contributed in the win. Cam Dickison went 4-4 and Justin Moline hit a home run and had three RBI's. (Coach Courtright)

JV: The JV got back on the winning track with an impressive 13-4 victory over Forest Lake on Friday at Kohler. The Mustangs again jumped out to an early lead but this time they were able to shut down their opponents. Up 6-0 after the first inning, the game was never in doubt, thanks to a strong pitching performance by Cam Dickison. He gave the Mustangs one of their best starts of the year with five good innings. Jack Brundell went the final two keeping the Rangers bats silent. Freshmen call-ups Kyle Mauricio, Jason Porten and Robert Roman played key roles in the win. JV: The JV suffered its fourth loss of the season and its fourth in a row on Thursday at Stillwater. The Mustangs started strong scoring 4 runs in the first but the Ponies answered with 3 in the bottom of the first and 4 more in the second. The Mustangs chipped away at the lead scoring in the 3rd, 5th, and tying the game in the top of the seventh but could not keep Stillwater from scoring in the bottom of the seventh. The final score 9-8. The JV record is 8-4.  (Coach Courtright)

JV:  The JV dropped their third game in a row to White Bear Lake on Tuesday. A close game through out, the Mustangs had their chances in a few innnings to put runs on the board but could not seem to get that clutch hit. The pitching by Brock Pedersen and Anthony Tallarico was good enough to keep the JV in the game but White Bear was able to score a run in the bottom of the seventh to win 7-6. The JV record is now at 8-3. (Coach Courtright)

JV: The JV dropped their second game of the season to Totino Grace on Saturday.Totino came out the gate fast scoring 7 runs in the first inning and the Mustangs could not recover losing 10-3. The JV record now stands at 8-2.  (Coach Courtright)

JV: The JV suffered their first loss of the season at Woodbury on Thursday. An evenly matched game went back and forth, but the Royals ended up making the last play. The Mustangs played well in all aspects. The game went back and forth through all seven innings but Woodbury came out on top 10-9. The JV record now stands at 8-1.  (Coach Courtright)

JV: The JV played their most complete game of the season against Hastings on Tuesday at Kohler. The Mustangs beat the Raiders 15-0 in 4 1/2 innings to improve their record to 8-0. Everyone contributed in the win. David Freed started on the mound and had 4 strong innings and Cam Dickison went the final inning to blank Hastings. The Mustangs pounded out 15 hits and drew 5 walks in the win. The team was also error free in the field. The JV would like to thank the Diamond Club for announcing the game and for the BBQ that followed. (Coach Courtright)

JV:  The JV continued their winning ways at McCullough on Saturday with a 7-4 win over Stillwater.  The Mustangs used a 6 run inning capped off by Jack Brundell's 3 run homerun to open up a close game. Anthony Tallarico and Brock Pedersen took the hill for the JV and were able to reign in the Ponies. The victory improved the Mustangs record to 7-0. (Coach Courtright)

JV: The JV improved their record to 6-0 with a 11-8 win over Roseville on Friday. While not playing well defensively, the Mustangs pounded the Roseville pitchers. Ross LaDuke, Justin Moline and Chris Szymanski continued to hit the ball hard. Cam Dickison started on the mound and Josh Balzer went the final three innings to close things out.

JV: The JV stayed unbeaten with a 7-6 come from behind win over Cretin Thursday at Kohler. Down 6-1 going into the bottom of the seventh, the Mustangs staged a rally and scored 6 times to get the victory. Ross LaDuke had two doubles in the inning to key the comeback. Brock Pedersen, Dan McCarville, Jack Brundell and Ross LaDuke were on the mound for the Mustangs.  (Coach Courtright)

 JV: Starter Justine Moline and closer Phil Wessberg combined to shut out Park 4-0 on Tuesday. The win improves the JV record to 4-0. Along with good pitching the Mustangs played solid in the field. Ryan Meyer sparked the offense by driving in two runs.  (Coach Courtright)

JV: The Junior Varsity improved to 3-0 with a 6-4 win over Minnetonka on Saturday. The Mustangs started the first inning with all the runs they would need by scoring 5 times. Anthony Tallarico, Cam Dickison and Jack Brundell were in control on the mound. Justin Moline's diving backhanded catch on a line drive that he turned into a unassisted double play kept Tonka from being a threat.  (Coach Courtright)

JV: The Junior Varsity improved to 2-0 on Friday with a 9 inning 6-5 win. The Mustangs scored 4 runs in the 3rd and another run in the 4th to take a 5-1 lead but Forest Lake came back to tie the game in their half of the 4th with 4 runs of their own. Each team had chances to put up a run in the seventh inning but were not able to get across the plate. Finally in the ninth The Mustangs got a lead off single, a stolen base, a passed ball and a sacrifice fly to score the winning run Good pitching and defense sealed the win. Pitching for the Mustangs were Paul Myers, Dan McCarville, Phil Wessberg and Brock Pedersen. The team was lead offensively by Brandon Hershey and Chris Szymanski. (Coach Courtright)
